Korean Translator Minjeong Jeong 2024.02.19 Profile She pursued Latin American Literature at Korea University, completed her translation studies at the Literature Translation Institute of Korea, and also finished her PhD coursework in the same field at Korea University. She earned the Daesan Literary Award for her Spanish translation of Byung Mo Koo’s La panadería encantada, a collaborative effort with Irma Zyanya Gil Yáñez. Additionally, she co-translated Hyejin Kim’s Sobre mi hija for publication in Argentina and Spain. Currently, she serves as a Spanish Lecturer at Dongguk University. Korean Translator Hyeon Jeong Lee 2024.01.02 PROFILE Hyeon Jeong Lee (she/her) is a freelance translator based in Champaign, Illinois, USA. She studied English Literature at Seoul National University and received her PhD in English at the University at Buffalo, USA. She was awarded a translation grant from the Literature Translation Institute of Korea for her English translation of Uhye Song’s White Bird, which she co-translated with Cynthia M. Childs. Lee also co-translated Sung-hee Yoon’s short story “The Duty of Loneliness” with Childs and published it in the Tammy Journal. Currently, she is writing a Korean-American history textbook with members of the Midwest Korean School Association.
